Welcome to the IBM Connections Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by the IBM Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

For more information and upcoming events, please visit our IBM Connections page.

Create one single repository for all files & attachments so behavior is uniform across all elements of IBM Connections

Currently personal files, community files, (if available) CCM files, blog attachments, forum attachments, wiki attachments and activity attachments are all stored in individual and separate file repositories with their own limits, behaviors and options. This means that behavior changes wildly from one application to another (versioning - no versioning, editing- no editing, exporting - no exporting, etc) and that reusing files across is often not possible. Causing many duplications and irritations. If all files would have one single backend repository from where files have similar options (versioning, ownership, etc) then this could make working with IBM Connections a lot more smoother and easier to explain to users.

The same applies to the plugins for Windows, Notes and Outlook. Please offer one solid and similar solution working with files.
