Welcome to the HCL Connections Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by the HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

Allow extended formatting to be rendered in PPTX files

In the preview and in the edit mode, the background image is displayed mirrored.
On a slide, the text is rotated 90 ° to the right.
In a round element, the font is not displayed in the right place and not rounded.

We have a sample document, if this is saved as ppt, the error is not there. If it is saved as default pptx the error is seen.

Windows 8.1, MS Office 2013

Resolution Description

# Solution:

Our L3 team confirmed this is a limitation as of today, Docs has poor support for  the rendering of  special shape or text effects in presentation. This is one of our top priorities in consideration for improvement in future update.

They gave us more details:

1) In pic1_docs.JPG , The Shape rotates 90deg and text box inside rotates 270deg. Shape rotate is now supported in Docs presentation but text box rotation is not supported currently.

2) In pic2_docs.JPG , it  is caused by shape 3-D rotation - x direction rotates 180 degree and not supporting  in docs now.

3) In pic3_docs.JPG , it is  kind of special word art text effect and not supporting in docs now.

There are some related ideas already on going to future improvements:

But as of today, these elements are not supported I am afraid. We are working to address them on next releases.

I would like to see a specific case, so I can see if this kind of problem is fixed in future
