Welcome to the IBM Connections Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by the IBM Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

For more information and upcoming events, please visit our IBM Connections page.

Move content from one community into another

It would be great to be able to move any content page (wiki page, blog entry, forum entry, activity... whatever) from one Community into another.

Our users sometimes create content in a place where it is not intended to be. Currently there is no other way to move this content than re-creating it in the correct place and deleting it from the incorrect place. If a Community Owner does this for the user, this admin is then the new author of the content so that the initial author is no longer visible.

Just to tie down the use case, how would you prioritise the following -

    1. Ability to copy a single page / blog entry / forum entry between communities
    2. Ability to copy a wiki branch / forum topic between communities
    3. Ability to copy an entire wiki /blog / forum to another community
    4. Ability to copy content between blogs / forums / wikis
    5. Ability to maintain date-time and authorship after copy
    6. Ability to copy the comment stream with the content (for blogs/wikis)
    7. Ability to copy between separate connections instances

(The above is the priority I would guess)

    Thanks.

Personally, I believe that the items "Ability to copy date-time and authorship after copy" and "Ability to copy the comment steam with the content" should beĀ on position 2 and 3 so the rest would move down.
