HCL Connections Ideas Portal

Welcome to the HCL Connections Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by the HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

For more information and upcoming events, please visit our HCL Connections page.

I wish I could copy a community (or its content in whole)

I wish I could copy a community (or its content in whole) - and when copied, it is named "Copy of <original name>" unless I edit the name before it is saved the first time.

Maybe also include a choice on whether to copy comments and attachments.

I fully support this idea. There are various use cases. Think about seminars, training courses etc.. Always the same structure and content, but different members...

Copying a community, with structure and contents, like with an Activity (template) would allow for the creation of a template community that could be quickly used to put in place the structure, documentation, important links, and so on for any sort of repeating use.  For example, I have a template for a community I create for each new client I work with.  In the template are a set of useful bookmarks, and template wiki pages for the Customer Success Plan, with common information (instructions, guidance, explanations) filled in.  At present I use it as a model, but I must manually copy all the data over to a new community when I start to work with a new customer.  Being able to truly copy the whole community into a new one would save me a lot of time.
