Outlook Connections Plug-in to convert files to .eml (e.g. .msg files from Outlook)

When using the Outlook Connections Plug-in e.g. when adding an email to activities, this file is not readable by any users without Outlook. This was much better when using Lotus Notes: An .eml file was created that could be read within Connections itself. This topic is really crucial for us to have a deeper integration with O365.

    The current Outlook add-in available on Flexnet saves emails as .eml files. Note that this is different from the previous Outlook plugin, as the new one is webbased and built on Microsoft's OWA framework. It will not run on Mac and Windows rich clients, and on all supported browser clients.

    I know that this is not what you asked for, but did you take a look at outlook2web? That small plugin to outlook allows you to set eml drop as the default for outlook. Very small price, so I consider it achievable. It also repairs the damage in outlook of not correctly dropping mails to html5 pages (some type tag missing on drop), which it then does as eml also.
