We are aware of several issues occurring in Highlights for Communities. These issues were noticed when it was first introduced and continue to persist in later releases. We kindly request that HCL or their offering management address the following concerns:
1. Addition of Apps (Rich Content and Gallery)
- Currently, a workaround is to use the customize button if Highlights is set as the start page or set the start page from Highlights to Overview. However, this is not a systematic approach. It would be more beneficial to fix the issues with Highlights directly. We would appreciate it if this enhancement could be added to your pipeline of upgrades.
2. Notification/Banner for "Your membership request has been sent" when requesting to join a moderated community.
- This issue cannot be denied either. When Highlights was rolled out to Communities, the only way for users to receive this notification was if the Community's start page was set to Overview. However, we do not see this as a valid workaround. We should be able to take advantage of this new feature in all situations, just like in earlier releases.
We understand that you may argue that these issues exist because Highlights were not included in earlier releases. However, we believe that this is a matter of UI that your development and offering management teams can collaborate on resolving. If these enhancements cannot be made in the near future, we kindly ask that you include them in your future plans.
I am also referencing another idea submitted 2 years ago https://connections-ideas.hcltechsw.com/ideas/IDEACNCTNS-I-2132 but not exactly the same to our issue. It's been 2 years now and the status is just future consideration.
