Following reasons for doing this:
· Once someone has imported the event to its calendar, links will not work (if it is imported by ics — not by feed). [Looks like a Lotus Notes issue?] So it is nice to open the event in ConNextand click in the event on working links.
· You can check who plan to attend to decide if you really want to attend the meeting (this only in the ConNext event)
· Also if something has changed in the meeting (for example conference settings), you can have a look at the uo-to-date source
· Afterwards you can have a look to the postmortem minutes or comments from your calendar. By self-linking the meeting you have kind of auto-update feature of your calendar entry.
To get the link to an event (like for the Forum entry), go to the Events overview from the drop-down menu on the left below the community logo; select Events
