HCL Connections Ideas Portal

Welcome to the HCL Connections Product Ideas Lab! The place where you can submit product ideas and enhancement request. We encourage you to participate by voting on, commenting on, and creating new ideas. All new ideas will be evaluated by the HCL Product Management & Engineering teams, and the next steps will be communicated. While not all submitted ideas will be executed upon, community feedback will play a key role in influencing which ideas are and when they will be implemented.

For more information and upcoming events, please visit our HCL Connections page.

Mouse over URL Links should display Page Previews in small popups

There should be a simple option to use "Page Previews" when hovering over URL Links, just like in Wikipedia.

When a Wiki/Blog reader hovers with their mouse over a URL Link, a small popup should display a content preview of the linked content. A content preview should contain a short summary and an image, if available.

Page Previews can significantly reduce the number of tabs being opened by a user, and hence enhance Browsing experience.

This page provides plenty of examples: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iceberg

A global Connections Administrator should be able to control whether the feature is available or not.

A Community Owner should be able to either disallow the feature or enable it per default.

A Community Content Editor should have a simple option (like a check box) to enable a URL Links for Live Preview or not.

Page previews like on Wikipedia can be added via the script from Linkz.ai

    1. Sign Up for the API key at https://linkz.ai

    2. Add the following snippet to your environment/webpages:

    <script src="https://js.linkz.ai/?key=XXXXXXXXXXXX"></script>
